Comfrey - Bocking 14 -

(Symphytum uplandicum)

Comfrey is an amazing perennial plant that produces beautiful purple flowers which attract many pollinators. It’s a very tough plant with many uses. It grows to around 3 to 5 feet tall depending on location. It produces beautiful purple flowers and is a great pollinator plant. The variety we have is called Bocking 14. It does not spread by seed like the true comfrey (Symphytum officinale). I tend to plant them outside my vegetable garden because once planted, comfrey is there for the long haul. We make fertilizer from this plant and use it as a nutrient rich chop and drop mulch. Comfrey is a great addition to an orchard or any pollinator friendly landscape. For establishing root fragments, you basically just stick them in the soil where you want them to grow, and top it with some wood chips or shredded leaves. I try to send at least pencil thick cuttings. Thicker cuttings will be an inch long, and thinner cuttings will be longer. Comfrey is a very easy to grow, low maintainence plant.

Hardy to zone 4.

Sold in packs of 5 cuttings.
